U.S. Senate Candidate Jim Moss to Attend Save Our Schools Arizona Event
Moss, who just announced his candidacy on Friday, congratulates SOS organizers and volunteers
Arizona State Capitol — Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate Candidate Jim Moss will appear at the State Capitol at 1:45 p.m. today to support and congratulate the grassroots group Save Our Schools Arizona on collecting more than 100,000 signatures to refer Senate Bill 1431, considered one of the most expansive school-voucher laws in the United States, to the November 2018 ballot.
A school bus will deliver the signatures to the Secretary of State at 1:45 p.m. Immediately following the delivery, the grassroots organization will deliver remarks.
“This is what democracy looks like!” says Moss, who just announced his candidacy on Friday. “Arizonans who care about our public schools, as well as grassroots, citizen action.”
“We should salute the SOS organizers and volunteers who have been on the front lines of democracy − and are emphatically telling the State Legislature, ‘NO! Do your job to represent the real interests of Arizona families – not the corporate special interests that fund your campaigns,’” Moss says.
“Arizona voters should take note − take names − and vote out of office every state lawmaker who voted for the special interest voucher law and/or the corporatist legislation that makes it more difficult for Arizona citizens to exercise their free speech through the ballot initiative process,” he adds. “Vote ‘em out!”
